Hello, my name is Marisa and this is my story

Perimenopause kind of blindsided me. I mean I wasn’t ready for the anxiety, sleeplessness, lack of energy or trouble concentrating. I felt like I wasn’t myself anymore and I really didn’t know what was happening. Was this normal?? Turns out it is. I was and still am going through perimenopause. Those years right before “the change”. The difference now is that I’ve empowered myself with tools to manage the unpleasant symptoms and a balanced plant based lifestyle has a huge part in it.

What puzzled and discouraged me the most though was how taboo the subject of menopause was and how so many women were living in silence. Many not knowing why they were having these symptoms or how to deal with them.

I started this site as a place for us to come together and learn how to not only survive the menopausal years but to thrive. To gain health, body confidence and a passion for living.

My idea of a perfect Sunday morning includes a hot cup of tea and a good book! I love reading about holistic nutrition and wellness, vegan recipes, and novels with a uplifting or fun story.

 

All Animals

Especially Yorkie puppies and baby sloths. These love bugs were our first puppies: Gatsby (on the right) and Tino (named after Tino Martinez of the New York Yankees!) I also love visiting the Woodstock Animal Sanctuary. Gatsby and Tino both have a plaque there in front of the pig barn.

Traveling with my hubby

Paris, Disney and Iceland are some of our favorite places. We love trying out new plant based restaurants and cafes!
